Scared Without a Portable Generator
The news report from the night before already had me worried. Heavy storms had been predicted and last year we lost power for a full three days. After that storm I purchased two cheap portable generators to be certain that if it ever occurred a second time we would be prepared. Problem was, I couldn’t recall where I had put them and the storm was already on us.
I have got to discover the portable generator. Everyone get to the bottom floor, I’ll be right there, as soon as I locate it and get it started. Ok baby, please go fast. (kisses for everyone) Jogging towards the storage I could smell the tornado headed this way. Off in the horizon, brown and magenta, weird reds and greens whirling together. It was just after three in the afternoon and it was virtually pitch black outside.
I scurried through the junk that was scattered everywhere, complaining under my breath about how I should keep a cleaner storage. All I could think was, please protect my family. Ah there it is,the portable generator. Now where is the fuel can, I know it’s full, I just filled it Sunday, and I haven’t used it since then. Oh wait the machine should be full. Yes it is.
Nice! okay, now tug the cord, and plug this power strip into it and we should be good. This electric start portable generator is wonderful, I am so ecstatic I finally got this thing. (It roars to life) Ok, plug this in. Whala! Ok, where is the main house plug? There it is. Plug it in. Nice! Alright then, back to the family!
